Short: Rtgmaster Driver Archive
Author: MagicSN@Birdland.es.bawue.de
Uploader: MagicSN@Birdland.es.bawue.de
Type: gfx/board
This is part of the new rtgmaster release V22.0. rtgmaster is a library system to make
GFX Board Compatible Game Coding easy. It supports :
- Direct Access to the Video RAM
- With some effort the code even runs on ECS/AGA (through c2p)
- Supports nearly all WB Emulations
- And much more
This Archive contains binaries and the "RtgMaster Game Driver". This is sort of
an "allround driver" for GFX Board Support, that should handle the stuff for most
cases. It is easy to use. You do not need to know how to do library coding, you
can simply link the driver to your code. It does all that library stuff internally.
The other rtgmaster archives are rtgmaster_user.lha and rtgmaster_dev.lha. The
User Archive contains Binaries and Demos, the Developper Archive also Autodocs
and Includes for the library itself.
As to copyright conditions to use this driver in your own projects, have a look
at the Docs.
V21 changes:
- Important rtgCGX.library bugfix for 15/16/24 Bit Screens (there is not yet
a program using rtgmaster in Truecolor mode, though, most games are these
days still 8 Bit, if not to say all)
- Workaround for CyberGraphX V41 R55 Bug concerning WaitBOVP. Doublebuffering
will now work with the buggy CyberGraphX Version again. (Bugreport already
sent).
- Installer script finally fixed.
V22 changes:
- rtgCGX changes
- Note about how to make a game running on the CV64 (the CV64 does some
special things... Genetic Species is coded GOOD for example, it runs,
tiny3d is NOT). it is only a small thing, but many coders seemed not
to have a look at it. And no, it is no rtgmaster problem, if you use
CyberGraphX or Picasso96, you will get the same problems... you can't
assume BytesPerRow = BytesPerPixel * Width on the CV64, basically, but
have to read out the real BytesPerRow...
- Fixed Driver to run on the CV64 (BytesPerRow, hehehe...)
- Fixed Driver that the Screenmode-Requester also works on a AGA system,
old version of the driver only supported AGA, if you did NOT use
the Screenmoderequester
New in this version (also called V22, sorry :) ) :
- Problems with CopyRtgPixelArray call and Cybervision64 Board should now
finally be fixed (so Tiny3D should now work on the CV64 also)
IMPORTANT NOTE:
To create the original installer script i used files that i found in a file
called inst_ex.lha containing installer script examples "for your usage" from
a BBS. It seems that the guy who created this archive broke copyright and stole
code from some installer scripts of Commercial Software, including for sure
the CyberGraphX installer. I was contacted by Robert C.Reiswig because of that.
I documented what happened in the rtgmaster docs and removed the scripts in
question completely. I rewrote them now, without using the doubtful
inst_ex.lha material. If someone wants to flame someone, not i am the person
responsible. Until some days ago, i did not even KNOW that i used material
by Robert C. Reiswig (like i also explained him). The guy who put together
this inst_ex.lha appearently removed all copyright lines... well, with V21
all doubtful material is removed from the rtgmaster archives !!!
